Dear dancers, musicians & enthusiasts,
I can't believe 2010 is half over! It's
been full of events, traveling, teaching and writing for me! I
was at the International Bellydance Conference of Canada in
April, Cairo Caravan this month and have an article in the
upcoming issue of Shimmy magazine
- pick up a copy!
The second half of 2010 is shaping up to be just
as exciting - read on for all the news and meet this month's

On
the Road with Baraem Jamila!

Jamila, Mahin's
student troupe had a great time on their Cairo Caravan
adventure! They performed a multi-piece show, took lots of
fantastic workshops and shopped till they dropped.

Sampler - A Bouquet of Beautiful Styles" on
July 31st in cool, beautiful Flagstaff!
We'll be doing 3 combos in
different flavors of Egyptian...elegant Classical, earthy &
juicy Beladi, and sassy Sha'abi (street style). You can have it

Bellydance
Classes in Gilbert & Phoenix
Phoenix
bellydance classes will start a new session on Tuesday, July 6th.
This is a mixed -level class that presents the basics for
beginners and challenging variations for continuing
students. The class is small to ensure the individual
attention you deserve!
The next
Gilbert session will start on Wed., July 28th - this is a
Level 1 Plus class with new beginners and students preparing for
Level II.
Mahin
combines her experience as a performer and instructor with her
background in biomechanics and exercise science to provide a
thorough, creative, fun and effective bellydance class. Come
experience the difference!

 Meet the Students...
Jessie has
been in the Central Phoenix class since May of 2009. She is a
financial aid specialist and besides dancing, enjoys knitting in
her free time. Her current project is big fuzzy socks! She has
two adorable cats named Hermes & Rasputin.
Favorite thing
about class: it's a great way for me to relieve stress and get
a good workout while we have fun and learn something new.
Was really
excited when she learned: layering
shimmies with other movements.
Next
challenge to conquer!: playing
zills and doing anything else at the same time!!
